Transportation Serpong

  • TRAINS

The railroad tracks connect Serpong to its neighboring city, namely Jakarta. The train is electric locomotive (KRL/Kereta Api Listrik) and there are 2 (two) types of electric locomotives: air conditioned and economy class. The station is Serpong and the destinations in Jakarta are to Manggarai, Beos, and Tanah Abang. The route is also to Bogor. The route starts from 06.31 am until 20.17 pm. The ticket fare for air conditioned is about Rp. 8.000, – and for economy is about Rp. 1.500, – Since it is a mass transportation, you should pay more attention to the security issue.

  • BUSES

Bus is the main transportation between places. There is Trans BSD City Feeder Busway to travel from Serpong to Jakarta. The central terminal is located near BSD Swimming Pool, as there are other haltes as well, such as Al Azhar Islamic School and German Centre. The route starts from 05:30 am until 18.00 pm. The ticket fare is Rp. 12.000,- and you can buy it in ticket booth in each terminal. There are 3 (three) types of destination: from BSD Ratu Plaza (via Pondok Indah and Senayan BSD City – Kota – Mangga Dua (via Jakarta Toll Road) and BSD City- Pasar Baru (viaTangerang- Jakarta Toll Road and Harmoni). Another type of bus is Argamas bus BSD.

  • TAXIS

Taxis are metered (using “argometer”), but sometimes the drivers refuse to use the meter and ask you for a certain amount instead, although they are supposed to use the meter. If you are not in a hurry in Serpong, insist on using the meter or get another cab. Flag fall rate for hiring a taxi is Rp 6.000,- for the first kilometer. Additional charge of Rp 2.500,- applies for every 1 kilometer thereafter. There is, however, a minimum payment of Rp 25.500,- for hiring, including hiring by telephone. Extra charges that you are to pay are the toll gate fees. For security reason we recommend you to reserve Blue Bird taxi by phone. You call Blue Bird Group at 021- 79171234.   • OJEK (motorcycle taxis)

     Ojek is an alternative transportation if you want to avoid the traffic congestions and travel a bit faster. However, it can only take a passenger at one time. The cost varies depending on the distance. The driver of the motorcycle will take you to your destination with a prior negotiable fee.

  • DRIVING LICENSETo drive a car or a motorcycle you need a driving license. Many countries issue International Driving Licenses which are valid in Indonesia.
